This last fall I had the chance to work in a Dale Harwood rig at the ranch my sister is working at.  It was really fun because about a year earlier I had been to a saddle making seminar that Dale put on in Oaklahoma City.  I really came to like and admire him for a number of reasons.  One of them being that he is a man of great charecter.  The others being that he really taught me a ton!  Even though I was (and still am!) a girl he tried his very best to have me come away with something... and I did.  Of course tons of tips and advice on saddle building, but also a lot of advice on life.  He's the one that convinced me to go to college, and told me things that he's learned through trial and error.  I wrote the first song on my CD Highway 80 about Mr. Harwood, and will always value his friendship and support.
